Read on and learn the truth...
HD (High Definition) is very quickly becoming low definition. Why is this? It all boils down to dollars, cents and greed. For a high definition signal it requires bandwidth. With the launching of digital compression it has been and is being used to compress way beyond what is required to get a good quality picture. It makes more sense from a business standpoint to cram as many channels (multiplex) into the bandwidth space available. When that happens something has to give and usually it's picture quality. While the consumer spends big money on a new HDTV expecting the world, the source material from mini satellite dishes, cable, over the air broadcast and IPTV are feeding an overcompressed bitstarved siginal.

The dirty plan...
The dirty plan started years ago as these mini dish pioneers, (Direct tv and Dish network) started the trend to destroy what started out as an okay SD picture. They pushed the degrade envelope so far that all SD from them looks far worse than an old analog SD signal looked. People slowly were brain washed to accept this poor quality as the norm. Then something new happened, they started providing HD. While this HD signal looked better than the SD did (remember SD was ruined already) customers thought "Oh wow this is great". Well the cycle is now repeating itself as all the providers scramble to add more channels in HD with only so much bandwidth available. So what may have started out as in improvement is now sliding downhill fast and getting shredded to pieces in picture quality. Slow but steadily the followers are being brainwashed once again as this is the norm when it's far from what it could be.
What does the future hold?
We can be sure that this trend to offer poorer quality will continue as the companys themselves charge you the consumer even more for this. They got away with it once so they are sure they can get away with it again.
What can one do that wants quality?
If your currently watching, mini satellite dishes, digital cable, or IPTV (UVerse) your stuck as long as you stay with them. They will keep raping you monthly with there high fees and provide you with less and less. The first thing you have to do is pull the plug from them. Then you have a few choices. You can watch OTA HD using a tv antenna although they are destroying the HD quality there now too just like the others. Get a Blu Ray player and hope for the best. Or get into C band satellite (Big Dish). With the right receivers you can watch picture quality that is true eye candy. The big dish is not dead as many want you to believe, it is better than ever. Remember with the big dish you get the source feed before these providers butcher it with compression and bitstarving.
It's your money... are you throwing it away with these sub par providers? SAY NO TO HD LITE!
